Reading at home can be fun and engaging! Join us to learn how to use Listening and Spoken Language Strategies such as expansion, auditory closure, auditory first, and more…to turn Reading Time into your child’s favorite time. We will give examples of how to use each strategy within a book and how to adapt these strategies for different age groups.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Review the importance of literacy for children whom are deaf and hard of hearing
- Use Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) strategies during Story Time.
- Adapt the LSL strategies based on different age groups.
- Learn how to select a good book
