Cochlear's HOPE Program announces its upcoming seminar about the advantages of bilateral cochlear implantation

Cochlear is excited to announce the next HOPE Online seminar
in the NewYear; the topic is therapy for children with two
cochlear implants. 

The presenter of the seminar, entitled Therapy: Same of Different for a Child with Two
Cochlear Implants,
will be MaryKay Therres, M.S., CCC-SLP, Cert. AVT, The Children’s
Hospital of Philadelphia Cochlear Implant Program.  

The seminar will take place on Thursday, January 6, 3:00 pm EASTERN time.

This talk will review advantages of bilateral
cochlear implantation and why it should be considered, discuss children who
would be considered a candidate for bilateral implantation and the possible
outcomes that may be achieved. 
The major emphasis of the talk will focus on the development of auditory skills utilizing the new
bilateral cochlear implant.  This
will include discussion of specific goals and how to incorporate the auditory development in school and at
home.

CEUs will be offered and a certificate of
participation is available.  Like all HOPE Online events, this seminar will be
real-time captioned and recorded (with availability several days after
the live event). HOPE Online courses are free.

AG Bell 2011 Listening and Spoken Language Symposium Call for Proposals

The AG Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing has planned the 2011 Listening and Spoken Language Symposium to be held in Washington, D.C. on July 22 and 23, 2011.  The theme for the Symposium is “Leading Innovation Through Practice.”

The deadline for submitting proposals is December 16, 2010!!  Make sure to get your proposal in today!
