It’s National Public Health Week! Did you know that the Health Services and Resources Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provide grant funding for newborn hearing screening? These grants include state-based programs [http://www.infanthearing.org/states/index.html] as well as a technical resource center [http://www.infanthearing.org/index.html], a family support center [https://handsandvoices.org/fl3/index.html], a medical home initiative [https://www.aap.org/…/Early-Hearing-Detection-and-Intervent…], and training to pediatric audiologists [https://www.aucd.org/template/page.cfm?id=754].

Together, all these organizations comprise our nation’s EHDI System.

The theme for NPHW is “Building Bridges to Better Health.” Building on this theme, we will be posting the public health history of EHDI and EHDI’s impact on public health.
